Tsunami of technology - Opportunities for fresh produce

The EU Fresh Info Forum challenges young and daring solution providers to step up and share their ideas. During the 4th EU Fresh Info Forum, the central theme is Tsunami of Technology. We do not only want to talk about the threat this tsunami poses for fresh produce, but we also want to show that there's also great opportunity.

Program November 28th, 8.00 hours Technology Tour

On wednesday 28th, we will start the day with a brand-new technology tour for visitors who want to explore the latest technological developments in horticulture practise in the Greenport West-Holland. 

Program November 28th , 17.30 hours Executive Forum:

Change starts at the highest level. Digital transformation of fresh companies management is essential for the next generation of fresh produce. Thought leaders from top companies Microsoft, Labbrand Brand Innovations and Walmart will underline this at the Executive Forum. Tejas Bhatt, Senior Director Food Safety Innovations at Walmart, the biggest retailer in the world, will discuss the future of blockchain and the need for transparency.

This event will be combined with the General Assembly of the Fresh Produce Centre. After the Executive Forum, we will offer plenty of opportunity for networking with a walking dinner.

Program November 29th, 9.00 hours Business Forum:

The Forum consists of a series of interactive activities designed to provide entrepreneurs, managers and experts from the agricultural sector a comprehensive overview of the developments in both individual companies and the fresh produce industry in general as a result of growing technological possibilities.

Together with thought leaders from tech companies (Agrilyst, Dutch Blockchain Coalition), retail (Jumbo), fresh produce (Rijkzwaan, Capespan, NFO, Fruitmasters) research (TU Delft, KU Leuven) and governance (Rotterdam Food Cluster, European Union), we will address these developments and look at the opportunities and the impact on data management and standardisation.

You are also welcome to participate in panel discussions, engage with fellow delegates during our network breaks, experience live drone and robotics demonstrations or join our greenhouse tours.
