World Horti Center students take on a challenge

Every year the Rijksmuseum organises the Rijksstudio Award design competition. An interesting challenge for the Lentiz Flower & Design MBO students at World Horti Center to take part in. And since this year is the 350th anniversary of Rembrandt's death, the great master is at the heart of the project for the MBO Flower & Design students.

Inspired by the Old Masters, they will present a live tribute to historical works of art from the Rijksmuseum on 6 and 7 March during the “Seasonal Trade Fair” at Wold Horti Center. The craftsmanship and creativity of the MBO students can also be seen at the MBO Westland Open Day on 6 March at World Horti Center.

This competition is included in the educational programme of the Flower & Design course. Every year, students take on the challenge to deliver a flower arrangement with greenery and styling.

WBE Westland, Van Duyvenvoorde Flowers & Plants and Javadoplant provide the students with the foliage, flowers and plants they need to create their project. The Rijksmuseum considers the contribution of the green sector to be so important that it assigns judges for the assessment each year.
