Under the roof of World Horti Center you’ll meet businesses, education, research and public authorities. There is an organisation linked to each of these groups: in the case of research, it’s Vertify. Vertify has a state-of-the-art research facility with 39 research greenhouses where they carry out research into topics such as technology, cultivation systems, crop protection and breeding. But companies can also approach Vertify with other research questions. Not all their research is done solo: they often work with students from MBO Westland and businesses that are part of World Horti Center. This is yet another opportunity for the various groups to come together.

In recent years Vertify has evolved into one of the leading applied agricultural research centres in the Netherlands. It has its own sites in North Holland and the Westland region as well as implementation facilities at more than 100 sites throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. Vertify is an organisation that carries out applied research. In doing so they generate knowledge and applications for their customers: primary producers, suppliers and buyers in the horticulture and agriculture sectors. Their research takes place in trial fields and research greenhouses. This enables them to encourage, facilitate and organise innovation in the sector and offer the entire supply chain both at home and abroad the opportunity to showcase their products and services and share their knowledge. Visitors from all over the world are welcome to come and see first hand how the Dutch horticulture and agriculture sectors contributes to ensuring sustainable food production, health and well-being.
