Dutch horticulture is internationally recognized as state-of-the-art and as a benchmark for other countries in the world. The Netherlands is a leader in technological innovations that make production far more efficient and sustainable. For example, did you know that Dutch tomato growers produce an average of 70 to 80 kilograms of tomatoes per square meter, compared to 20 to 30 kilograms in other countries? And did you know that Dutch greenhouse horticulture is up to 15 times more efficient in water use compared to Southern Europe and the USA? And, finally, that a modern Dutch greenhouse uses up to 50% less energy than it did 20 years ago?

In the five-day training program IntoHorticulture Flex, you will get an insider’s view of the internationally renowned Dutch horticulture sector. This course is similar to the regular IntoHorticulture course, with the main difference being that the Flex course is a tailored training for organizations. The training is led by a passionate expert from HortiTech, who will guide you through every part of the value chain—from seed to the sale of end products. The specific focus areas will be determined based on the organisation’s needs. Possible topics include:

No prior knowledge is required to participate in the course. IntoHorticulture Flex takes place at World Horti Center and the R&D Centre PROOF. In addition to theoretical sessions, practical sessions will be held in PROOF’s own greenhouse units. The course also includes several visits to a selection of leading companies in the sector. The standard course structure is as follows:

Locations: World Horti Center (Naaldwijk) & PROOF (Honselersdijk)
Price per person: €2,250 excl. VAT. This price includes coffee/tea and lunch.
