One course we offer is IntoHorticulture – the leading onboarding course for the greenhouse horticulture sector. This week-long course is specially designed for people embarking on a career in horticulture but who do not yet know the sector. The content of this course is delivered by our partner HortiTech. Welcome to the wonderful world of greenhouse horticulture!
As a newcomer to the horticulture sector, everything can feel a little overwhelming: the terminology, the various technologies, the different types of companies and processes. What is plant propagation all about? How does breeding work? And what is that dripper your colleague is always talking about? Whether you are or will be working for a supplier, the flower auction or a grower, the Dutch horticulture sector is a complex business.
On the IntoHorticulture onboarding course you are immersed in the wonderful world of greenhouse horticulture over a period of one week. This course is specially designed for people embarking on a career in horticulture but who do not yet know the sector. The course is based at the clubhouse of the horticulture sector: World Horti Center in Naaldwijk, The Netherlands. The week here starts with an introduction to the sector, and every morning we tackle interesting subjects such as greenhouse construction, breeding, plant physiology, climate control, supply chain management, cooperatives and marketing. In the afternoons, the group goes out to visit various sites belonging to some of the companies listed on the right.
